Ad-Hoc work post CCT

I am a GPST3 nearing CCT, I had plans of potentially working as a locum every few weeks whilst I travelled the world post CCT for a few years. Wanted to pick the minds of both seasoned GPs and newly CCTed GPs, is this a recipe for disaster as I will not get the consistency of clinical experience as a new CCT GP?
