"Destruction" references

I love when musical theatre numbers call back to previous moments in the show, and the lyrics of "The Destruction" are full of those! However, as I listen to that number more and more, I've grown curious about the instrumentation. I found a post in this sub that mentions a motif from "Unsuspecting Hearts," and there's another one I've noticed lately. At least in the 2012 off-Broadway version, it appears twice in the number: the electric guitar plays it when the fire alarms go off at the beginning of the instrumental portion, and the piano plays it more slowly at the end. Is this motif a reference/callback? I've tried listening to other numbers, but I haven't found anything.
