Does anyone else hate it when someone asks you if you live alone? I mean men asking women this question

Whenever I’m chatting with someone in a getting to know you dating capacity and the guy asks, “Do you live alone?” It immediately gives me serial killer vibes. Like why do men ask women this question? It’s awful
