Day 7 ish with horribad sore throat-Got a methylPREDNIsolone sod succinate (SOLU-Medrol) injection in my hip. My throat is feeling much better after 4 hours only!

So went to the urgent care here in murica again. I went last Friday. But the one by my house was closed today due to flooding.

Doc saw me and noticed how bad my throat was. She gave me the injection in the hip (by one of her students) and then said to get ibuprofen and tylonel if I need it. Had to wait 15 min. Shit was fine, felt a bit of heaviness on that side after getting shot but was fine. A little woozy but I don’t think that was from the shot.

I didn’t get prescribed the Tylenol or ibuprofen, which I thought I did, but I called my local place to see if they had got an order and they didn’t.

So if I need it I’ll get it.

I have until Monday off. If I feel like this, I’ll likely be back earlier.

But I have read almost all posts on this Reddit lol. I know it can flare up again or symptoms can return.

Hell, my first day in the urgent care I got a liquid half shot of steroids, dunno which type. Woke up the next day feeling like this. Sore throat a little lump but the pain is nothing compared to how and it is with mono. It’s barely pain honestly.

But then the pain came back.

So I know I gotta prepare. I plan to get as much sleep as possible and drink apple juice and water like there’s no tomorrow, can’t wait!!!

I am enjoying chicken strips with fries made of just potato and no salt, but also garlic fries with heavy garlic (also no salt). To all my Washington relatives I’m talking about kid valley.

Steroid shots def do help.

And she said they aren’t really used for mono but seems to work great for me!

Edit: been almost 5 hours (30 min short) and I feel almost nothing in my throat not even a lump. I feel something very small but is pretty much nothing compared. To what I had
