How do I FIRE with a high volatility portfolio?

I invest in an industry which is relatively volatile (+/-10% in a day happens probably once a month). I understand that may upset some people here as the general advice is to just VOO and chill, but it works for me.

Just wondering if anyone else here has FIRE’d on a volatile portfolio and how do you know when to sell off? Do you wait for a pop and sell or just sell whenever you need it regardless of the price?
