Why do so many users struggle with Fedora?
It’s just a trend I’ve noticed lately. I’m a member of a few other Linux distro subreddits, and on my feed I see all the usual “just switched, loving life” posts and all the screenshot show offs. But on here, I see plenty of people having various issues, despite Fedora being ranked one the of better general-use distros.
I’ve just switched after hopping for the last 12 months. Other distros just didn’t have the right feel to it. Mint is boring, Pop’s Cosmic is broken, Ubuntu is too commercial for my liking and Zorin is just disgusting. CachyOS was one the better ones, but overall I rank stability over bleeding edge updates.
I’ve used Fedora KDE 43 for the last couple of weeks and the experience has just been fantastic. It runs smoothly, it looks beautiful and I can set things up easily and just enjoy using my PC without shit breaking every 5 minutes. I love it!
It may not be one of the go-to distros for newbies, but it’s not hard using an LLM to tweak things to your liking. I’ve already got my Nvidia drivers installed with Steam and Proton set up and gaming is a dream.
Just using the opportunity to give a shout out to Fedora and the devs who support it. I think I’ve found my home now.
