Personal hopes for next patch

Just got myself the Aeserion Sword and recipe for its counterparts. I know the game makes a point of generally making all weapons equal but for a set that requires platinum to make them its a let down. Especially given the origin of the weapons.

Is there really is no point to making them other than for aesthetic?

Also feels a missed opportunity to have a unique armor set to match.
