Question

I don’t know how to word this in a way that’s easy to understand but i’ll try.

I’m a teen. I haven’t read the bible and keep having to restart. I plan to devote myself fully when i turn 18. I might have read some parts wrong or just forgot them so corrections would be helpful.

I was on tiktok casually scrolling and came to a post about “Where was God during slavery” which then led me into opening the search bar to see other vids like that and their comments. Came across one talking about “If God was real why was the story relevant only thousands of years ago whilst the earth is billions of years old”

That has made me think for a while now. The only logical thing i could muster in my mind is that well, maybe the knowledge and doings of God date back billions of years aswell but the time period of the Old Testament was the easiest for man to translate and understand without getting a brain fart. Considering they could (to our knowledge) pass down these sights and experiences with the word of mouth, they possibly just couldn’t continuously pass down billions of years, i mean someone in that group of knowledge was bound to die or lose their tongue, or be too stupid to speak.

And that dragged me to Adam and Eve. Why do people say it’s been 6,000 or 100,000 years since the two of them if the earth is billions of years old and God created them on the 6th day of creation?
