Tips for weaning off palexia?

I’ve been on a mix of Palexia IR and SR for 6 months due to surgeries, I just had my last surgery and currently am having to break the SR tablet for quick release as my dr accidentally gave me a script for SR instead of IR and I can’t get another script due to the allowed opioid amounts from the pharmacy etc

Anyways I’ve been on pain killers on and off for years, sometimes a year without, sometimes 8 months on and so forth ( chronic pain etc )

I’m hoping once I’m recovered I won’t need them anymore, I don’t feel like I’ve ever gotten addicted or develop a dependency but this is the longest stretch I’ve been on them, I’m also a mum, does anyone have advice for how to stop once I’m recovered? I’ve heard not to go cold turkey,

Any advice would be great ❤️
