Windows 10 Touch Keyboard not working on Surface Pro 2017

Hey!

So I've been using my Pro 5 in tablet mode. I noticed the touch keyboard would come up, but when I typed into it, nothing would type into *any* field. Almost as if the keyboard wasn't making direct input into whatever I was typing into.

I've been trying to find an answer online, but nobody seems to be talking about it except for one MSFT community post. There's no resolution, and Microsoft clearly doesn't care about Windows 10 anymore.

Does anyone else have an older Surface (or tablet device) they could test? I'm on the latest version of Windows 10, but I'd held off for a few months of updates voluntarily. It didn't work a few months ago either.
