Mass Mind Control, Political Role Play - Voice Preferred [M4M]

A few months ago, within the same day, every man in the country was suddenly overwhelmed, their minds besieged. When a few minutes later, when they recovered, they found themselves completely loyal to, admiring of, and attracted to a particular political figure. This guy now has the undying loyalty of every man in the country.

The unsettling thing is: We all know we've been messed with, even if we don't know how. Our responses are contradictory. We know we'd be outraged and horrified if we weren't so devoted to this guy. Unfortunately, we no longer have the option or even the will to mobilize any kind of resistance. If anyone questions it or tries to investigate it, they'll drop everything with one word from our new master.

What's day-to-day life like with this in the background? How do celebrities act? How do we explain what's happening to friends abroad, grousing about it but also deeply devoted?

I'd love to build up this world. Lets's do it. I would love to set it up as friends who can just chat about life, knowing this is happening in the background. It's a kind of ambient stressor that impacts everything, but we can't stop ourselves from complying or thinking pleasantly of it, even if know we wouldn't otherwise. We will also subordinate or betray others relationships to comply. Can't help it.
