Talking to my partner about debt
Me F24, and my partner M25 have been dating for a little over a year now and talking about moving in. Money has never really been brought up but now that we’ve been talking he is asking about my finances. I am so ashamed, I have $9k in cc debt, he does very well with money, and I have been working on paying it off, when he brought it up I kinda shut the conversation down and didn’t really say anything but I’m so nervous that he will judge me and leave me. I have made lots of mistakes and I have very little wiggle room to pay huge chunks but I have been trying very hard to pay them down. I’ve considered a consolidation loan but I’m not sure if that’s the right choice. I just feel like I’m so far behind, I barely even have a savings account and I don’t want him to think little of me. I don’t even know how to tell him it’s such an uncomfortable topic. I just need advice on how to go about telling him. It gives me so much anxiety to think about.
