I NEVER dry my filament

Discussion

We've had 2xP1S and an X1 for 2yrs, plus 2xH2D since they came out, 5 printers total. Both the P1Ss and X1 have over 4,000hrs. The H2Ds have roughly 1,500hrs of print time. We've used anything from $10-$40 pla from over 20 different brands.

NEVER have I ever once ever ever ever.... dried any of these filaments. Over the course of 2yrs now selling 3D Prints online and at vendor shows. We have never experienced any issues with our 3D prints that was caused because of not drying our filament. The slightly smallest detail that could be from not drying would be very very tight string like hairs from one part to another, which is easily fixed with a torch. We do multicolored prints 95% of the time, and if the first layer is good, then 99% of the time, the entire print is good.

Can I really be that lucky??? Or is drying your filament overrated???

I can understand someone doing super fine detailed/ mechanically necessary/ perfection prints, would need to have their filament in perfect operating conditions..... but for the majority of people 3D printing as a hobby,..... what is the point in drying your filament???
