Having anxiety over this
Hi everyone! I just need some advice or something because this is making me lose sleep
I am a barista of- almost a year, I'm a very hard worker and I'm highly praised for my customer support. Unfortunately I'm in some rough waters with my health, I'm dealing with a sinus infection and it hasn't been going the best. Last week on Friday I called out because I had thrown up and had a fever all night so at 5am I called out for my shift. My shift wasn't until 2pm, unfortunately I don't have sick time to cover it so my SM told me to try and find coverage.
So at 6am, with a fever and headache I called every single store in our vicinity to try and find coverage and no one wanted my shift. Now I'm facing a possible write up- and my SM has made it clear that if you are sick then you're responsible for your own coverage.
At this point I'm not sure what to do, my SM hasn't been able to do any of their admin stuff so it hasn't been processed yet but I feel it coming. Plus one of my shift managers thinks it's a high possibility.
I guess my question is, if you are sick and cannot find coverage then what are you supposed to do? Should I have just gone into work with a fever?
