Japan Itinerary | Boys Trip | Sep-Oct

Recommendations

Planning a Japan trip with a group of 5–6 guys (30s). We like good food, nightlife, and sightseeing. Looking for feedback on pacing, route, and whether we’re missing anything obvious.

Current rough itinerary:

  • Tokyo – 4-5 nights (start)
    • Fly in
    • Start the trip off with a bang
    • Food, bars, exploring neighborhoods, maybe a day trip
  • Mt. Fuji area (Kawaguchiko) – 1-2 nights
    • Ryokan + onsen experience
  • Kyoto – 2 nights
    • Hit the highlights (Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, etc.)
  • Osaka – 3 nights
    • Main food + nightlife base
  • Hiroshima – 2 nights
    • Peace Park + Miyajima
    • Open to other nearby nature/scenic ideas
  • Japanese Alps (Takayama) – 1–2 nights
    • Old town vibe, slower pace, something different from cities
  • Kanazawa – 1–2 nights
    • Gardens, food scene, historic districts
    • Added as a stop after the Alps before heading back to Tokyo
  • Tokyo – 3-4 nights (end)
    • Finish strong with more food/nightlife/shopping
    • Fly out

Heres a link to the general loop on Google Maps.

First time in Japan for most of us. Not super budget, but not luxury either. Prioritizing food, energy, and memorable experiences over checking every box

Appreciate any feedback / tweaks / reality checks
