My Brain Just Unlocked a New Glitch in the Matrix, and Now I See 'Kumquat' EVERYWHERE. Send Help (and Snacks).

Okay, Reddit, so get this. I was minding my own business, scrolling through some random psychology facts last night, and stumbled upon this thing called the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, or the 'frequency illusion.' Basically, it's when you learn about something obscure, and then BAM! You suddenly start noticing it everywhere. I read it, scoffed a little, thinking, 'Yeah, right, just confirmation bias.' Little did I know, my brain was already plotting against me.

Fast forward to this morning. I'm making breakfast, listening to a podcast, and the host casually drops the word 'kumquat.' K-U-M-Q-U-A-T. I literally paused, a spoon halfway to my mouth, thinking, 'Wait, kumquat? Who even says kumquat?' I brushed it off, figured it was a weird coincidence. But then, it escalated.

I opened my fridge for a snack, and what do I see? My roommate, who usually only buys apples and cheese, has a tiny, bright orange bag of... you guessed it, kumquats. My eyes widened. I swear I could hear a faint, mischievous chuckle from the universe. Then, I'm waiting for coffee, glancing at a magazine on the stand, and there's an ad for some exotic fruit smoothie featuring a prominent, glossy picture of... yep, a kumquat.

At this point, I'm seriously tripping out. It’s like my brain decided, 'Oh, you learned about that phenomenon? Here’s a live demo!' Every time I see or hear the word now, it’s like a little jolt, a whispered 'gotcha!' from the cosmos. It’s both hilarious and a little unnerving, like a secret inside joke only my subconscious and the universe are in on.

Has anyone else experienced this crazy Baader-Meinhof effect with something totally random? What was your 'kumquat'? Seriously, my brain is both amazing and slightly terrifying right now.
