Cornell Vs Emory Vs Pitt
Hi everyone! I just got accepted into all of these schools as Public Health track as a pre-med major and I was debating on which school to go to and here are my reasons why:
-
Cornell: It’s an Ivy League with extremely strong research opportunities, and I was admitted to the School of Human Ecology, which closely aligns with my interests, though it seems to lack clinical experience. I’ve also heard that chemistry courses can be quite challenging due to possible grade deflation. The cost is around $42K per year (my parents are willing to pay). I also really like the campus.
-
Emory: I received a full-tuition scholarship, bringing my cost down to about $27K per year, and the school has strong pre-med resources with excellent hospital connections; it’s especially well known for public health, and I would spend my first two years at the Oxford campus for a tighter community and smaller classes before transitioning to the Atlanta campus, though I would have to fly to attend, but the weather is nice and the campus is beautiful.
-
Pitt: I received a full ride, and the school is well known for pre-med with strong research and clinical opportunities, though being in-state might make it feel like a continuation of high school, and its large student body doesn’t fully match my preference for a smaller, more close-knit environment.
Thank you everyone! I’m very conflicted at the moment.
