Bayern Munich advanced to the semifinals of the women’s Champions’ League for the first time in the five years over Manchester United despite a nervy start at the Allianz Arena.

It was a dream first-half for United, with forward Melvine Malard putting the English side in front and levelling the aggregate score after just eleven minutes.

The Red Devils managed to stay on top for eighty-one minutes, until Glódis Perla Viggósdóttir headed home from one of the twelve corners awarded to Bayern throughout the match.

A strike from Linda Dallmann meant the Bavarians doubled their lead and ended the quarterfinal tie 5-3 on aggregate.

The victory meant FCB held onto their perfect domestic form, remaining unbeaten at home and only having lost one game all season to Barcelona, who they could face in the semis.

Manchester United have now only won one of their last seven games, including the League Cup final and a Manchester derby that some considered crucial for Champions' League qualification next season.

Reports on social media suggest that United are considering sacking women’s boss Marc Skinner, who has been United manager since 2021.

Bayern currently lead the Fraun Bundesliga, having won all of their last thirteen matches in all competitions and only one point away from securing their fifth league title in six years.

The Reds sit fourth in the Women’s Super League, having slipped below Arsenal in the table after their loss to Man City.
