The comparison is more apt than Jones thinks. It's pretty clear in the story of David that he was in a same sex relationship with Saul's son Jonathan.

I bet if Jones knew about that he would be less likely say Ole' Dave was God's favorite, just like he wouldn't have glazed Sheen if he had known that Ole Chuck likes to drive stick every now and again.
