Is this weird or am I just over reacting?
So, I have known this guy close to an year. Let's call him Jake. Started off as friends b,ut I caught feelings along the way. But, Jake wasn't interested so I got over it pretty quick.
Then for some weird reason, we started texting. I guess I was lonely. But, we have clearly established that it's just casual. Initially, he seemed into the sexting too.
I don't know how to explain this but he would be a bit weird when it comes to sexting. Like, Jake would never sext in first person, there would always be an imaginary third guy in the convo.
Jake could never bring himself to touch me, even in his imagination. The third guy should do it ( even in Jake's imagination). I've asked Jake who the third guy is and he says I can imagine anyone...movie characters, celebrities I like.
Also, Jake and I were really good friends before all the sexting started. We would text often and we even had a couple of inside jokes. But, after the sexting, it feels like he started to hate me on some deep level. He would ignore my texts and straight up not talk to me except for the sexting.
So,stopped texting him anything casual and only messaged him about work—no flirty or casual texts. Even those he began ignoring. Jake would sext only about once every 15 days, and each time it lasted around 15 minutes. After that, he’d give me the cold shoulder for the next 15 days, never replying to my messages and acting like I didn’t exist.
I once texted him something work related the very next morning after we sexted and was left on read for 15 days. This cycle repeated.
He would also abruptly stop the sexting once the 15 minute period is up, give excuses like his mom's calling, he has an important work call he needs to take, etc. Once, we were sexting and I wasn’t really in the mood because of my hectic schedule. But when I finally started feeling somewhat turned on and told him, he immediately said he was going to sleep and that I should take care of it myself. Fifteen minutes is way too short for me—I could never get anywhere in that time, and he knows it.
I’ve told him that I need to be mentally turned on before anything can happen, that anticipation is a huge turn-on for me, and much more. So, communication is never the issue.
All of these eventually made me feel unwanted and undesirable. My libido took a huge hit. I told him several times that all these were bothering me..the cold shoulder for 15 days, the sexting in third person and all that. We've had several fights about it.
He apologized but never changed and continued to do the same. I asked him if he is gay and he straight up denies it.
I started sexting with him because I’d known him for a solid six months and genuinely believed we were good friends and I could trust him. Now, I’m not so sure. I would have sworn Jake was a nice guy who wouldn’t act like this, but now it feels like he’s a completely different person. It's not like I am ugly and I am begging for him to sext. I look good and get enough attention from men.
I’m just exhausted. Is this how casual situations usually go? Is this how guys typically handle a FWB arrangement?
