newbie needs advice with picking a game

hey i want to pick some sport game for a casual play for me with homies. i pick 2k beacuse basketball is my favorite sport so yeah. im not gonna play online and especially grind it so i really don't care if servers is down. i heard that the last ones is not really likeable throughout the community and couldn't decide after reading a gazillion of posts, so... what game should i pick? i know they all like a 5 bucks, but I don't wanna buy multiple ones at this time. gameplay and content is my priority and i don't mind old graphics that much. have an xbox series x so potentially can buy some older titles from xbox 360 if they're much better than newer ones
