Ecobee auto fan vs fan hold power usage

Does the auto fan use a lower variable speed than fan hold which seems to use 100% speed? I’ve been running mine with fan hold as on 24/7, thinking it might cost a bit more but keep the air comfortable and filtered. I’m wondering if I run on auto for 55 min per hour, it runs at a slower speed and thus use mic less electricity.
