For those that are 25-35y old: considering how extremely hard times are(especially the economy)how are you getting by?

I see a ton of people in this scene either in their mid 20s or early 30s. majority working minimum wage jobs(part time),still living with family or friends, not having kids due to the economy,or the ones who do live on their own/with roommates are genuinely struggling to pay rent, etc. however,I also see these same people buying festival tickets,3 Day passes,+ plane tickets to go to Lost Lands or Forbidden Kingdom. on top of that,a lot of people play completely unpaid gigs in exchange for "exposure" and to hopefully get buddy buddy with the promoters,OR they ARE playing paid gigs but it's not (consistent) enough to make a living.

with all that being said, how is this possible? I mean I know the literal answer is money lol. but what are you doing to be able to pull thru with this? I'm just very curious. I see so many people with EXTREME passion for this music whether it's as an atendeed,or a dj/producer. what is keeping you from pursuing a more realistic career? or a better job? stuff like that.

obviously if you are someone who is already pursuing a career, such as going to school for something,And you DJ/produce on the side(maybe as a hobby),this post and my question doesn't pertain to you. and I am asking all of this and bringing up all of this without any malicious intent, but with a genuine curiosity. and I apologize if I offend anyone in advance, its not my intention. again, with today's economy and all the BS around the world,I'm just curious to hear what keeps people buying tickets, plates, equipment, long commutes to those unpaid gigs, etc. like if there's any smart financial strategies you are partaking in that could really help someone out,I'd love to hear em !
