Advice on a futsal match

Advice Request

So. A few weeks ago I was doing two U15 2nd division futsal games in a row, 2×15 playing time, 2 whistle system. The other ref had close to 50 years experience with soccer and over a decade with futsal, I was in my 2nd season and I'm not much older than the players either. He was on the bench side in the 1st game and I was in the 2nd. For clarification, in the 2nd game one team was playing in blue and the other in orange.

Anyways, a few incidents in which I feel I could've done better but I could go for some input from you guys.

  1. 1st game goes pretty well, I use my voice and speak to the players a lot as I usually do. Then a player goes down, from my angle I see no contact so I call out something along the lines of "No contact play on". Right about that second the other ref calls a foul. I quickly say a few words to defend the call since he probably saw something I didn't from his angle. Nobody ended up complaining but definitely shouldn't have been so eager. As far as I remember, it was something that could've been either one's call when it comes to distance and positioning.

  2. Pretty early in the 2nd game I call a backpass (it was the futsal specific rule with gk having played the ball already). It was by the orange team goalkeeper. No complaints for that one, they give the IFK. Then I have a few players blocking my line of vision but the other ref calls a handball, penalty, and DOGSO so red for the offending player. I assume it was a deliberate handball so I don't say anything even when the player's teammates start telling me how it was an accident. While I'm trying to calm the bench down and defend his call, he asks the player to come back and downgrades to a yellow, turns out it was a non deliberate handball and he forgot about the law change. I don't blame him for that, the game has changed a lot, but for my part, should I have asked him?

  3. Not too far from that incident, he calls a foul by the blue team, a substitute on the bench stands up and yells "What the fuck?". The tone wasn't really aggressive or anything so I give a yellow for dissent and tell him to watch his language. Then I move on to get in position for the free kick and hear the coach telling him to calm down and sit back down. Should I have made sure he doesn't escalate further before I focus on the next situation? Should I have just given a straight red?

  4. Closer to the end of the game, the score is 1-10 for the blue team and the orange team scores a 2nd goal. At first I'm almost certain the ball bounced back from the goal but then I start to doubt when the blue team bench starts telling me it bounced from the goalposts. The other ref is closer to the goal than I am so I call out to him across the field and he says it never went to the goal so we end up disallowing it. Orange team bench of course doesn't like that but they don't end up complaining much. After the game when we're alone he tells me he didn't see the situation properly. Makes sense, he can't really admit that in front of the players, but should I have gone up to him and had a more discreet conversation? Or should I have just ignored the bench and allowed it without asking the other ref since I saw it pretty clearly? Looking back if I did that and he saw it, he'd definitely have told me to disallow the goal.

Anyway, for the most part we did a good job and the game went well. Before you comment, I'm the one asking for advice, not him, so comment on my performance only. I know him, he's a good referee and he'd ask for advice if he needed it. I didn't post this to bash my fellow officials and if anyone gets that vibe, I'd appreciate some advice on how to edit it!
