Car for 21 year old daughter college graduation

My daughter will be graduating college next year this time and I'm buying her either a new or lightly used (20k miles or less) vehicle. My budget is up to approximately 30k.

My preference would be a Honda CRV, RAV 4 or Subaru Forester. I've noticed that there isn't much of a break on these when you buy used.

She really wants a Mazda CX-5 or CX50. I can easily get one of these used for 20 to 25k.

What am we giving up if we go with a Mazda? I've owned Hondas, Toyotas and Subarus but never a Mazda. Input on any of this is appreciated!!
