How to make own record label?

i see a lot of independent musicians having their own label, but whenever I look up how to do that, people dance around the question and moreso tell you what you can do with your own label.

the closest I got to figuring out how to make an own label is being self employed/making a company, but then what?

surely I can't just type a name into distro kid and that's it?
