OVGU Magdeburg – Opinions on Financial Economics / IMME / ORBA (career prospects & experience)

Hi everyone,

I’m considering applying to Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and I’m trying to choose between three Master’s programs:

• Financial Economics
• International Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship (IMME)
• Operations Research and Business Analytics (ORBA)

I come from an Economics background and I’d really appreciate hearing from students or graduates of these programs.

I have a few questions:

• How would you describe the difficulty and workload of each program?
• Which one is more practical vs. theoretical?
• What kind of career opportunities does each program lead to (in Germany or internationally)?
• Which program has better job prospects after graduation?
• Are there good internship or working student opportunities related to these fields?

I’m also an international student, so any insights about studying in Magdeburg and transitioning into the job market would be very helpful.
