UPDATE: got fired after 5 yesterday

So for those who didn’t see my last post about my really unstable job here it is lol

“So I work at an immigration law firm and I feel like every week they threaten our job by saying they’re going to a hire a third party company to do our work. However, when I ask our boss about it he’s like “there’s too much work and not enough people so I do not know the status of your employment yet”. This is hard to believe though because he keeps hiring new employees every week to do our same job. I also found out that last summer they hired like 15 people and ended their contract a few weeks later without warning for no reason. It’s just annoying and makes me want to leave so bad. They also try to talk us into working overtime hours of 7:30-7 or like okay they said Friday April 3rd the firm is CLOSED yet they still asked people to come in and work on a day were not even open?? Nah. I’m sorry but no 9 to 5 is worth this. I mean are all law firms this poorly ran?? Because wtf I’ve never had a job do this before. It’s my first like career job so maybe I’m not used to it but I’m just confused. I’ve been applying at other places but I’m also trying to optimistic because maybe they have another idea in store for us. But yeah I hate this. I need a job to pay my bills though 😭 I dread going into work now due to the uncertainty of my status as an employee. They also lied about the job description. They made it out like we’d be legal assistants…we work in a mailroom and manually sort out mail A-Z for 8+ hours…it’s just not fun”

My day was a bit better today and I thought “okay maybe this isn’t too bad”….at 5:30 my coworker calls me and says “hey did you get a phone call that says you were fired?” and I said “what no?”. 6:30 rolls by, I got the call. The recruiter tried to say it was due to “our performance” that’s why they didn’t keep us. However that’s a lie because they literally said to us today “see you tomorrow” and then they keep hiring wayyy too many people. Like literally hired 6 people last week. My coworkers are all pissed because they fired me out of the blue with no warning. What a scam company. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Any suggestions on what to do??
