I come to you on day 11

feeling better

Day 11. Cold turkey. Absolutely nothing to aid symptoms except for trazadone for sleep (which didn't work anyway).

I'm still having moderate symptoms like being feverishly cold and restless with sweats, shivers, and shakes.

Last week was a fucking trip, I tell you. I researched absolutely nothing before quitting. Not sure why but I think it helped me do it without inhibition.

About day 5/6, I almost killed myself out of pure terror. As someone with a history of panic attacks, this was the biggest and most painful of all panic attacks I've had. Lasted a full almost two days before oscillating back to 'normal'.

Since then it's just been a gradual rewiring of my life, brain, and body. Funnily it reminds me of psychedelics, on some level.

I started 7oh to stop drinking. Worked a charm. But now, having been through the worst of the withdrawal, I can't help but think I should have just quit drinking another way LOL.

No cravings for 7oh or alcohol. I barely enjoyed my time with either. I find that I *do* need to keep myself stoned pretty much 24/7 though. As soon as I'm clear of the majority of the symptoms, weed is going out the door too.

I'm moving in with my partner next week. I didn't want to move in with her as an active addict. So, here we are. I've resolved to actually put the effort in to fix my life here.

This was a great first step. I feel more confident in myself than I have in a long time.
