Hi everyone. I have pretty fine hair and struggle to keep them alive throughout the days. They look great on wash day (seen above with and without the cast, although I used a mousse instead of my usual gel) but stretch out really easy. I wonder if my routine lacks something and if salt-spray would be able to add the needed texture to make them more resilient.

Current routine:

I gently detangle my hair (dry) before hopping in the shower.

I wash them every 3-4 days with mild shampoo. I only double cleanse when I feel it’s necessary.

I use the Garnier Fructis Aloe Vera hair Mask as a lightweight conditioner, combe it through then rinse it out.

For styling I apply the curlsmith feather light protein cream (for some strength) and the curlsmith shape up aqua gel (very runny and lightweight). I apply all of them with my hair flipped forward, prayerhands and raking, then scrunching. No brush styling or anything like that. My curls form well on their own and I don’t mind them being a little different thought.

Then I gently squeeze out excess water with a microfibre towel and diffuse them. When dry I scrunch out the crunch with oil.

I sleep with the pineapple in a silk scarf.

For refreshing I slightly dampen my hair and add a tiny bit of curl cream and maybe gel, then diffuse, scrunch and oil. Won’t look the same as day one but works fine.

I wonder if there is anything I could change up in my routine that would make my curls last longer or if salt spray should be added.

Thank you in advance ❤️

Can salt-spray help my curls last longer?
