How do you guys handle the cryptic navigation system ?

Hello !

I (IT Manager for SMBs) am currently reviewing Coda as a potential solution to remplace current Slite bases that have become way too overpriced for the actual use

I particularly love the editing possibilities of Coda, and the fact that you only pay for the power users who create documents/pages, which is exactly the situation of 90% of the companies I work with

Like currently one of my customers is paying for 40 Slite licenses while around 35 people only read the docs and never write anything. Even if, they could ask a power user or Admin to create the docs structure, and then fill it up so that would be OK

The only thing I cannot wrap my mind around here is the actual navigation system, which seems to be cryptic as hell

  • I don't really understand why we would need Folders AND Docs (which aren't actual docs but in fact big "sections" into a "Topic" like "Odoo Procedures" in "Technical" folder for example)

  • I don't really understand how you guys use it given you can never see ALL your folders/documents/pages full tree

  • When you click on a doc in a folder, it opens another page where you cannot anymore see Folders and Docs list. I don't really understand how you can achieve a real Knowledge Management style navigation here

Many thanks in advance for any help

If you have any other names of similar tools where only power users/editors pay, I'm all ears btw
