Being a Woman and Needing Medical Help Sucks! Strange Urinary System Symptoms, and an Endometriosis Diagnosis That Has Cursed Me

Like the title says. I (23F) am all sorts of frustrated, sick and tired of never being taken seriously by those who spent years and years on the school bench to learn how to help me. Why get the degree if you're just going to send me on my merry way with a pack of painkillers after not listening to a word I said?

For background info, ever since 2022, I have gotten these strange on and off UTI-like symptoms. These symptoms seemingly have no pattern; there can be months between each symptom round, and they appear when they feel like it. Like right now.

The symptoms are your typical painful urination. But to add onto it, the pain feels like a pressure that burns in the same way you may accidentally burn your finger on a hot straightener. The pain feels like it is located at the very opening of the urethra, and the pain will be present as a throbbing sensation for minutes afterwards. My inguinal lymph nodes will be sore to the touch (this is a new symptom) and my pubic bone also aches. It almost feels like someone outright kicked me in the crotch.

I know the dangers of an UTI so I always go to the doctor when the symptoms appear. The urine test strip shows results that point to a urinary tract infection, but when the sample is sent to a bacteriologist for culture, there is no evidence of an infection. No bacteria found. This happens every single time. No STDs nor am I sexually active. Only one partner 3 years ago.

In 2024, I went to a hospital gynocologist for an endometriosis assessment. I have no issues with male gynos, the one who sent me to the hospital was a kind old man who took my health more serious than me. But this man at the hospital was such a condescending man. He refused to do the surgical diagnostic test because I am under the age of 40, and slapped the diagnosis "We will assume you have endometriosis" onto me. He told me that I should just get used to taking pain medication and come back when I was old enough for them to actually find any evidence of endometriosis when I was 40. This has become a curse. With this label on, my GP does not really feel like sending me elsewhere to check if there is some other issues with my urinary system so in puzzled pain I live.

I, personally, do not think this is a case of endometriosis. My periods are not that painful, they last only about 3-4 days, with 2 days being heavy flows, and I have no other issues. My cramps were more or less annoying, as they sat in my lower back and on the worst days, could make it hard to walk. I don't find myself relating to most of the common symptoms with endometriosis.

It does not really help that I myself am a medical professional, and my brain will easily fill itself with the scariest of illnesses.

I am almost pleading to find out, and hear here if anyone has experienced these same strange urinary symptoms as me so I can have something to back up my claims so my GP finally looks away from that damn diagnosis. Is it me who is being a drama queen? Are these normal experiences as a woman or is there an answer somewhere?

(Sorry if my English sounds a little wonky. It's my second language)
