Watch out for Algofruit (Garvik Tech) Guy promoting his Platform in comments
Hey guys,
Just a heads-up for anyone using Algofruit (or thinking about it). SEBI’s new retail algo framework officially kicked in yesterday (April 1st). I did some digging into Algofruit (run by Garvik Technologies OPC), and there are some massive red flags you need to know about before you link your API.
- Zero SEBI Registration
First off, they have no SEBI registration. No RA (Research Analyst) and no IA (Investment Adviser) license.
• The Problem: Under the new April 2026 rules, if a platform sells you a "ready-made" strategy where you can’t see/edit the logic (Black Box), they must be a SEBI-registered Research Analyst.
• Since they aren’t registered, using their "marketplace" strategies is basically asking for your broker to flag your account. SEBI is on a warpath this month against unregistered "fin-fluencer" platforms.
- The "Free Static IP" Trap
They’re marketing a "free static IP" for your API. Don't fall for the "free" tag.
• The Catch: While brokers now require a whitelisted Static IP, routing your sensitive trade data through a "One Person Company" (OPC) server in Lucknow is a huge security risk. You’re literally giving a middleman a front-row seat to your API traffic.
• Also, if a bunch of people share that same "free" IP, your broker (Zerodha/Angel/Dhan) might flag you for unauthorized sub-broking. Not worth the risk to save a few bucks on a private VPS.
- No "Unique Algo IDs"
This is the big one. As of yesterday, every single algo trade needs a Unique Algo ID assigned by the exchange.
• Only empanelled brokers can get these IDs for vetted strategies. Since Algofruit isn't an official exchange partner, their marketplace algos probably don't have these IDs. Your broker is legally required to block these orders starting this week.
- It’s a One-Man Show (OPC)
Algofruit is a One Person Company (OPC) with a paid-up capital of only ₹1 Lakh.
• Think about that. If their server glitches or a "fat-finger" error wipes out your account, a company with ₹1 Lakh in capital has zero way to pay you back. You have absolutely zero financial recourse.
