Am I just horrible or is the game playing out as intended?

I recently got Lobotomy Corporation after finishing Limbus Company.

I'm familiar with soulcrushingly hard games (nothing with this setup though), but I'm stumped right now. So far I've been on Day 3 or Day 4 for a while, what happens is that I can handle the first two Abnormalities just fine, and then the third completely destroys me.

From what I can remember, so far I've had Today's Shy Look and Beauty and the Beast. Today's Shy Look got me a few times before I learned its gimmick via boxes, however working on it was still incredibly hard and prone to failure. The same goes for the Beauty and the Beast. The initial Repression worked out alright, and then I had an employee do Insight which was going well at first but their sanity got drained and I had to put them down.

Am I meant to constantly lose in the early game to unlock information about the Abnormalities? Do I have to grind the weaker Abnormalities a little more? Thanks in advance!
