How do I learn industrial printing workflow without formal courses?

Hi everyone,

I’m really interested in learning industrial printing (offset, flexo, packaging, etc.), but I’m not looking to join a formal course or diploma right now.

I want to understand the real-world workflow — from prepress to press to postpress — and how things actually work inside a printing plant.

For those of you already working in the industry:

• How did you get started?
• Is it possible to learn directly on the job without prior training?
• What roles should I look for as a beginner (helper, operator assistant, etc.)?
• What skills should I focus on first (machines, software, color, maintenance)?
• Any resources, YouTube channels, or communities you recommend?

I’m open to starting from the ground level and learning step by step. Just trying to figure out the smartest way to enter the industry without wasting time.

Would really appreciate any guidance or real experiences.
