Looking for apartments

I‘m moving to Charleston in July for a new job at the VA medical center. I’m completely new to the area and would appreciate some recs!!

I’d prefer 1 bed but studios are fine!

Under 2K base rent (prefer ~1400-1900 for for room to include utilities)

Prefer in unit washer dryer

I‘d prefer to have commute <30min w/ traffic (pref <20)

I’ve been told to look in south/old mount pleasant, and James island from my new coworkers.

So far I’ve looked at meeting street lofts, the Beckett west Ashley, the Isley at Windsor hill, sawgrass apartments, the watch on shem creek, the cooper in mt pleasant, storehouse nine, the porter (meeting street), and 1000 west.

specific recs or or best areas/ areas to avoid are much appreciated!!
