[Discussion] Top-tier microbrands vs. similarly priced big brands

At the $1,500 - $2,000 price point, you see a lot of top-tier microbrands (Monta, Formex, CW, maybe Jack Mason, etc).

How do these compare to similarly priced big brands (Longines, Oris, etc.)?

Basically - if you had $1,500-$2,000 to spend on a watch, are you getting a higher quality watch from a macro vs. micro? And what other factors do you consider?
