Slim Cropped Chinos - how to make them look modern?

I’ll be returning to in-person work after being remote for a long time. I’ve been going through my closet of old work clothes to see what can be salvaged.

Is there a way to make them look contemporary? How would you style them? 2018 me would wear a tunic top on top and ballet flats. What would be the 2026 version?
