This Ducks Of A Feather release might be one of the most slept-on drops of 2026.

With Nike stock down and Elliott Hill stepping in, the brand is clearly trying to rebuild energy. Between the ACG revamp and Abloh’s V.A.A. rollout, it feels like Nike is finally leaning back into storytelling instead of just pumping out boring ass colorways.

DOAF is a perfect example of that shift. Ducks Of A Feather comes out of Division Street, which is directly tied to the University of Oregon’s athletic program. It’s basically the closest retail consumers can get to Player Exclusive \[PE\] releases. Even more important, proceeds from these drops directly support Oregon athletes through NIL \[Name Image Licensing\], which makes this one of the few sneaker programs where hype and sales directly benefits collegiate players.

This “Lumber Yard” pair, which dropped alongside “Tall Firs” on Air Max Day 2026, pulls heritage from Oregon’s timber industry. The rough suede panels, debossed woodgrain textures, rope laces, and wooden lace tips all lean into that rugged, lumber workwear feel. Even the outsole graphics with evergreen trees subtly connect it back to the Tall Firs story.

The “Tall Firs” pair goes even deeper into Oregon history, referencing the 1939 NCAA Tournament where the Oregon Ducks men's basketball earned their nickname. That legacy ties into Tinker Hatfield’s “Deep in the Woods” court design, reinforcing the nature-driven identity behind the program. This pair uses layered green tones, fuzzy suede, nubuck, and mesh to mimic the forest itself, with a gradient that reflects how light moves from the canopy down to the forest floor.

Both pairs show what Nike can still do when they focus on meaning instead of mass production.

Lumber Yard represents the industry and raw materials that shaped Oregon, while Tall Firs captures the environment and legacy that came from it. I can’t wait to UNDS my pair, but with the rainy weather in New England right now, they’ll be on display next to my wood furniture a little longer.
