Ohio Clay soil

our backyard turns into a mud pit when it rains. it retains water and has basically made our backyard impossible to mow most times and just unenjoyable.

I've seen where people use pine pellets and I plan on testing the theory in the dog pen while throwing some grass seed down with it.

Looking for suggestions on grass seed that will do great in the clay soil!
