I bought my first motorcycle in 2001 after my best friends went on a ride across the southwest. I was jealous and didn’t even know how to ride. I took the MSF course, left the class and went to the nearest Harley Dealership and bought a new 2001 XL883 for $5k. I rode it, I wrecked it, I fixed it. I made some good mods, I made way more bad mods. Then it sat in my garage. My nephew expressed interest, so I got it running and gave it to my brother to give to my nephew. My nephews traded it, ignored it, beat it up and then gave it back to my brother who gave it back to me because he needed the garage space.

So here’s my dilemma. I want to retool the bike, get it running, and use it as a bar hopper. I don’t want it to be flashy, more bobberish.

Anyway, I’ve picked up a a new petcock and a carb rebuild kit. (The tank looks in good shape) I’ll work on getting that squared away this weekend. However, I have 2 issues that I need some light shed on. The battery that I picked up from Batteries Plus, doesn’t seem to fit. And the clutch perch is cracked.

Can someone point me to a clutch perch (black) that does not include all the other housing crap and a battery that fits?
