Ever found out what someone said about you behind your back and now you struggle to trust people?

Hey everyone,

Bit of a random thought, but I’ve been reflecting on something recently and wanted to hear other people’s experiences.

Have you ever found out what someone you trusted, like a super close friend, said about you behind your back?

I recently learned that someone I was really close with, someone I genuinely cared about and showed up for, had said some pretty horrible things about me when I wasn’t around. It’s strange because at the same time, they were still being kind to my face, spending time with me, and acting like everything is normal.

I think that’s the part that’s been hardest to process, not just what was said, but the disconnect between how they treated me in person vs what they actually felt.

It’s made me question things like:

- how well we really know people

- whether respect was ever actually there

and how you’re supposed to move forward after something like that

I’m not even angry as much anymore, just trying to understand it and let it go.

Curious if anyone else has gone through something similar, and how you handled it?
