No diagnosis- high calprotectin and no symptoms?

Not looking for medical advice- I already have a referral to a GI doctor for a colonoscopy. Just looking to hear similar experiences or what others have learned.

I’ve had a reoccurring anal fissure for over a year that sometimes gets irritated and looks more like a hemorrhoid. It will open and bleed occasionally during a BM. Rarely any diarrhea, occasionally constipated when I’m not eating as great. I have always had veryy low ferritin. Finally had a doctor take a look, and they ordered a fecal calprotectin just incase, which to my surprise came back with 613ug/ml.

It’s my understanding that a result that high does mean some kind of inflammation, but could be for a variety of reasons. IBD, diverticulitis, celiac, infection, polyps- interested in hearing any others. However, I have no symptoms? The last time I recall having diarrhea was a brutal stomach bug 6 months ago that my partner passed along to me. Don’t know if that’s relevant, as inflammation wouldn’t stick around so long would it? Could this be nothing at all? Or something silently getting worse on the inside?

Has anyone had similar experiences with fissures or a high calprotectin level with no symptoms and gotten an answer? Or any different than expected results after a colonoscopy?

tl;dr reoccurring anal fissure and calprotectin over 600ug/ml with no other obvious symptoms
