Why don't they perform a colonic prior to a colonoscopy?

I understand that the doctors have little incentive to do so, but as a patient, I think I'd much prefer it to the conventional protocol of changing my diet a few days prior and then taking laxatives and starving myself the day prior to the exam.

it seems like there could be some money made by offering it as a service with your exam.
