Best Way to 2D Rig Character
TLDR: What’s the best way/tools to rig a 2D character like you would in Toonboom or Moho?
I’m very new to Blender and I’m trying to figure out the best way to 2D rig a character like you would in Toon Boom or Moho. I found the Smart GP Controller add-on, and it looks really promising, but I had a few questions about the best way to approach this. Do you have to use Grease Pencil with it? I was thinking about doing something more like a PNGtuber workflow with cutout parts made in Procreate. Also, if there’s an alternative to Grease Pencil, would it be better to use vector-based art, or is something else better for this kind of setup? I’m mostly just trying to figure out what tools and workflow make the most sense for what I want. I’m hesitant about Grease Pencil because I don’t have a drawing tablet, and I’m most comfortable drawing in Procreate on my iPad.
