WTH HAPPENED TO THIS GAME

I played a lot of grandmasters back in the day and the snipers used to 2 tap or even 1 tap you, i remember that it was possible to die in wells, and every slow projectile will kill you in 1 hit. Now they don't do any damage at all and people are just running builds that allow them to stay alive in the middle of all of the enemies and underneath bosses. Is this power creep or just every getting better builds?
