I’m experiencing input delay on touhou 10 but only from stage 4 onwards

I don’t know if this is just placebo or something but the controls feel considerably more sluggish on stage 4 and 5. I can easily weave between bullets in the first 3 stages and have complete control of the character but after that it feels much harder as if there is input delay happening

I am using Japanese locale, playing with vpatch on controller. I have had no issues with input delay in 6-9
