Help bc I’m done (zone 2)

Just started zone 2, and I reached a stage where you have to platform. I’m usually ok at this but in this game I find that I can’t reach beyond that first platform. Like I run and jump and it falls short.

Is there a trick to it that I’m missing?

I’m not entirely sure I’m running either- whenever I click down on left trigger, it does a quick burst of speed but goes back to regular speed after initial burst

I thought maybe I’m sposed to double jump but that isn’t an option either
