AITAH for destroying my old boss’ life

I worked for a rental car company for 2 years, my boss, let’s call him Niko hated me. Looked for anyway to fire me at any turn, which made me start looking for the door, I got a better position at a different rental car company that paid better and put me with the experience I gained as a perfect candidate for the hiring manager position. I’m over reading applicants for the new manager position we had and his landed on my desk. I talked to my boss, who’s a personal friend of mine now if I could at least entertain it a little bit. After calling a couple friends from my old job I found out he got drunk on the lot, tried to have sex with one of the old young employees and got fired. I called with glee to set an interview.

I read over his application and saw who he out as one of his personal references was his new bride. JACKPOT. He came in for the interview and I let him talk for about 10 mins thinking that this job was in the bag. I finally spoke back and said oh how the mighty have fallen. He looked me in the eyes after that, I told him I knew why he got fired/resigned. I told him despite those issues I know you’re perfect for the job.

He walked out with biggest smile on his face. 2 minutes later I was on the phone with his new wife, with the okay from the victim I told her what happened, I shared the number of her too (which she okayed it) I told her what I knew then passed her off, I then called his mother on the application as well and told her. I got an angry voicemail that I listened to 20 seconds of but qt that point I knew enough.

I finally called him back saying I found someone more qualified and were going to go in a different direction. He asked me if ruining his life, his relationships with his family(and children) if I was worth it? I played stupid and said I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I bumped into him today at a popular grocery store sto king shelves, I walked up to him and told him it was worth it, it was worth every time you put me through misery, I told him his misery bought pleasure to me, how his kids hold no respect for him brings ssooooooo much glee to me, you made my life difficult so destroying yours was perfect. Should I have said all that or no
