He might start a travel group centered around Pokémon and related careers, similar to Fride's Rising Volt Tacklers, but with a broader scope. I envision Ash's team taking on various legitimate jobs—such as contests, battling, working with professors, possibly joining Project Mew, and Pokémon Ranger activities—while also battling and traveling around the world. They could participate in tournaments, conduct research with champions like Cynthia, and help people and Pokémon in need as freelancers. Ash, as a traveling champion, resembles what Alder once did—acting as a freelance Pokémon ranger and spreading joy through caring for Pokémon. His group might compete in tournaments and possibly form a business, operating from a ship similar to Fride’s, with staff consisting of friends, loved ones, rivals, and rotating members.

Regarding Serena and her role:

1. Their dreams are similar but evolving. Serena’s goal to become Kalos Queen mirrors Ash’s quest for the League Championship, though both aspirants now pursue more open-ended ambitions without fixed endpoints. In XY138, Serena realizes her true dream isn't just a title but to bring smiles worldwide, which involves a nomadic, global lifestyle. Meanwhile, Ash’s journey has led him to become a World Champion, but his ultimate goal remains befriending all Pokémon—an endless pursuit that requires continual travel. Both are driven by infinite, world-exploring ambitions.

2. The "Region-Lock' Issue: Compatibility with long-term lifestyles plays a role. Many female leads who were shipped with Ash have goals tied to specific regions, like Misty—who aims to be a Water Pokémon Master but is happily settled as Cerulean City Gym Leader—or Iris, who aims to be a Dragon Master but is now the Unova Champion, with duties keeping her region-bound. May and Dawn, as Coordinators, need to travel widely but lack the romantic chemistry with Ash that Serena shares.

3. Emotional Dynamics: Supportive versus conflicting relationships. Ash and Serena's bond is healthy and supportive, fostering mutual growth without frequent arguments. While bickering can be humorous in cartoons, in real life, a partner who uplifts you is essential. Their mutual respect and encouragement provide a solid foundation for a lasting relationship.
